Are you a music educator in the state of Tennessee? Grant funding is available for your school from the Tennessee Art Commission to host me for a session with your students!

WHAT:

The Tennessee Arts Commission Student Ticket Subsidy provides grant funding to host artists on the Teaching Artist Roster.​ This grant would cover my transportation, lodging, and fee to work with you and your students.

WHEN:

It's up to you! I am currently taking bookings for Spring 2027. (Visits must occur during the school day.)

WHERE:

Your classroom, of course! I'll come to you!

Teaching a unit on world music? This would be the perfect complement to your material! Looking for ways to practically apply reading notation and other musical concepts? I can tailor a session to reinforce your content!

HOW:

I'll visit your class during the school day. Sessions begin with a introduction and demonstration of the Irish bodhrán (traditional frame drum).

 

After that, I'll hand out drums and tippers to your students for a hands-on experience. (I can provide up to 35 drums and tippers for these sessions!) We will then learn how to play a simple Irish traditional tune together with pre-recorded music.
